What we do:

We sail Whimbrel a 22 foot sloop-rigged Catboat, during the season, on the Hudson River.

During the winter, members help with boat maintenance, organization of information evenings, fund raising, etc. Together with potential members they are also invited to attend meetings where more about Ferry Sloops, sailing and the river is taught.

During the summer, members and their families are encouraged to come aboard to enjoy the river, learn its history and become familiar with its ecosystem. They are also welcome to join in trips to the various historic sites of the Hudson River Valley and participate in various Ferry Sloops activities.

We are holding a  meeting on the first Tuesday of every month, beginning at 6:30 with a Potluck, followed by the meeting from 7:00 to 9:30 PM at the Nature Center in Croton Point Park, open to all members and potential members who want to learn more about Ferry Sloops.
