About the Event
Who is Revolutionary War patriot and pioneer Lt. Lemuel Snow?
While serving for eight years in the Revolutionary War, Lt. Lemuel Snow, like most of the Massachusetts Line spent most of his time in the Hudson River Valley. Through letters, Lt. Snow documented his experiences over many years in this area. From Peekskill to Saratoga, Valley Forge, Monmouth, and Providence he endured the hardships that every soldier faced. He was a witness to the execution of Major Andre, was made a Freemason at West Point, became a member of the Society of the Cincinnati, and was at Verplanck’s Point with his regiment to greet Rochambeau, and with Washington for the Evacuation of New York at War’s end and his farewell.
