Join us as we begin the 2019 Spring Lecture Series with "Sing Sing: A History", presented by Ossining Village Historian Dana White, on Wednesday, April 3 at 7:30pm in the clubhouse at Shattemuc Yacht Club.
Sing Sing Correctional Facility has hunkered down on our waterfront almost 200 years. In this overview of its fascinating origins and evolution, Ossining Village Historian Dana White will also highlight the surprising ways the prison has shaped the village we know today. The presentation will include an update on the Sing Sing Prison Museum Project.
Admission is FREE and open to the public.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Dana White is the Ossining Village Historian and a practicing journalist. She sits on the Historic Preservation Commission as well as the boards of the Sing Sing Prison Museum, the Ossining Historical Society Museum, the Ossining Historic Cemeteries Conservancy, GOTV and the Ossining Rotary Club.
Come with a dish to share at 6:30PM and enjoy a potluck dinner or arrive a little before 7:30PM for the performance. No reservations needed (seating will be first-come, first-served).
