About the Event
Join Bianca Grooves with Sammy Wags for a funky joy-fest performing originals and covers that are a dynamic blend of deep funk, sultry blues, smooth soul and swinging jazz. Her music draws inspiration from an eclectic mix of songs and sounds that include the minimalistic jazz sounds of Miles Davis in the 50's, the bluesy, soul-stirring lyrics of Nina Simone in the 60's, the funky rhythms of 70’s idols Bill Withers and Stevie Wonder, the 80's beat-driven hip-hop like RUN-DMC and Salt-N-Pepa, the 90's blend of hip-hop and jazz groove of Mos Def, all of the pop influences of 2000's.
