About the Event
Through historical images and narrative, the story of the Palisades is brought to life. Learn about its fishermen's villages that once dotted the shores along the Hudson River, the palatial estates that rose on the summit, the epic struggle to preserve the cliffs from defacement by massive stone quarries, and the bathing beaches and campgrounds during the early decades of the twentieth century.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Eric Nelsen is a historical interpreter and oversees the Palisades Interstate Park’s historic Kearney House, where he’s helped to develop a unique “living history” program based on the house’s role as a nineteenth-century Hudson River tavern and homestead.
There will be a Q&A after the program.
