Flotilla on Peekskill Waterfront in Support of the Environmental Bond Act
Tue. Nov. 1, 2022 at 10:30am
The Clean Water, Clean Air and Green Jobs will be on the ballot this November.
This year voters in New York State will have the opportunity to vote on an Environmental Bond Act for the first time in 25 years. The 2022 Bond Act, which will be Proposition 1 on this year’s ballot, will allow New York State to invest in projects to protect clean drinking water, upgrade critical infrastructure (roads, sewer systems, drinking water pipes), support local jobs, improve public health, conserve wildlife habitat, and increase access to public waterfronts, parks, and nature centers by allowing NYS to take on debt to fund specific projects.

Clearwater will be joining partners Scenic Hudson and Riverkeeper at a press conference on the Peekskill Waterfront on November 1st to raise awareness of the upcoming historic vote.
Experienced paddlers are needed to join the "press conference from the water" to make it visually interesting and underscore the value of the Hudson River to area boaters, as well as a its importance as a drinking water source, etc. Representatives from labor in uniforms with tools, and others with signs and symbols will be on hand on land, with boating on the river to add interest and value in the background.
Also needed, are one or two motorized recreational boats to serve as safety vessels.
Please note: this information is still being finalized. This notice is to ask you to save the date and let us know if you are interested. Finalized information will be provided ASAP.
